2008 Crime Report Totals

13 Larceny reports: Wilshire (7); Pershing (2); Dublin (1); Joyner Elementary (1); Kenmore (1); Lawndale Swim & Tennis (1).
11 Burglary reports: Lawndale Swim & Tennis (3); Normandy (3); Dublin (2); Wilshire (2); Canterbury (1).
6 Vandalism reports: Wilshire (3); Joyner Elementary (1); Normandy (1); Shamrock (1).
1 Credit Card Fraud report: Cloverdale.
31 Total

In comparison, 2007 had 7 Larceny reports, 4 Burglary reports, 5 Vandalism reports, 2 Fraud reports, 4 Missing Person reports ( 3 were for a juvenile from one address), and 1 Threatening Phone Call report for a total of 23 reports.

Looking at the three main problems in the neighborhood, Larceny, Burglary and Vandalism, there were almost twice as many reports in 2008 as there were in 2007. 

January Crimes Target Vehicles

So far in January, two crimes have been reported on the P2C website. An automobile was vandalized at Joyner Elementary sometime between the 7th, when it was last known to be OK, and the 12th, when the incident was reported. And on the 9th, a car was stolen on Vernon Street.

Just a note about helping others and efforts in 2009

Jack Reynolds and I went to Guilford College.
He's got a few more years on me so we weren't there at the same time. Nonetheless, we have a kinship and I've enjoyed spending time with him.

He has a financial interest in the downtown Greensboro restaurant, Solaris.

We eat there often and during our conversations Jack has mentioned his brother-in-law's work in Haiti. I volunteered some of my skills to this effort and am a better man for it. I helped with some fund raising video. Here's a link to the web site:
